About the room

“Her Retreat,” designed by CeCe Barfield Inc., offers a contemporary reimagining of the classic lady’s dressing room.

A sanctuary of introspection and serenity, the room draws inspiration from the elegant, layered sitting rooms that adorned Lee Radziwill’s London home, crafted by the legendary Renzo Mongiardino in the mid-20th century.

Barfield collaborated with deGournay to create bespoke wallpaper, its delicate floral patterns and geometric lines evoking the intricate splendor of Rajasthani palace décor. The tranquil yet verdant color palette seamlessly unites the room with the adjoining terrace.

A curated collection of fine antiques and artwork—ranging from 18th-century French and English pieces to mid-century Scandinavian designs—reflects the taste and curiosity of a worldly, self-assured woman.
